10 cruise ship cabins to avoid tourists should pay attention this in your trips

You are sometimes unpleasant with the cruise trips you have booked, for example, some cabins or seats are not good and comfortable as you expected. Therefore, we will show you 10 following cruise ship cabins in order that you can avoid in your travel.

When you book a cruise you have the option of picking a specific cabin – much like you would an airline seat. But not all cabins are alike.

Beyond the basic categories – inside (no window), outside (with window), balcony and suite, there are all sorts of nuances and variances. With that in mind, here are 10 cruise ship cabins to avoid.

Vibration issues: Some cruisers love aft cabins because they tend to bring the benefit of larger balconies. But you may find yourself right above the ship’s thrusters. That’s fine if you want your bed giving you a retro “Magic Fingers” experience (without having to put quarters in a machine), but the vibration may annoy some cruisers.

Movement: Cabins at the very front of the ship offer the same views the captain and officers see from the bridge. But in these you’ll feel a lot of movement, especially if you’re on an upper deck (the most stable place on the ship is dead center). If you’re in a forward cabin near the waterline you’ll hear the sound of crashing waves (which some cruisers will like and others will not) plus the anchor being lowered when you arrive in port.

Squealing kids: The ship’s children’s activities center attracts a crowd, and there may be squeals of delight not only from behind the walls of the carefully curated, age-appropriate spaces but also in the guest hallways near those spaces. If there’s a teen center, be prepared for the teens to congregate outside – you’re best off finding a cabin elsewhere.

SPEAKING OF KIDS: See activities that will keep them entertained

Up high: Some of the nicest suites on the ship may be on the uppermost decks, and on some ships these areas are nicely separated from activities. However, on other ships some of the cabins may be directly under the jogging track (you’ll hear runners in the early hours), right under the Lido deck (you’ll hear people moving around their lounge chairs) or near the basketball court (you’ll hear thumping).

Hallway position: Being right across from the elevator bank and staircase is convenient, but here’s the problem: You will hear pinging and the sounds of people getting on and off the elevators at all hours, and lots of talking as they walk or gather on the stairs and in stairwells.

Connecting: Connecting cabins are great if you have friends or family next door and want your cabins to actually connect. But if you choose one of these cabins with no intention of meeting your neighbors, be aware you may hear more of them than you intended through the connecting doors.

Insides with “views”: Virtual inside cabins (as on Disney Fantasy and Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas) offer “portholes” or “balconies” with video of waves, rather than the real thing. If you tend to get seasick, the video of movement while you’re moving may not be for you. Do a double think too about interior-view cabins (on select Royal Caribbean ships). While it’s fun to watch the scene in the promenade (including parades) from the comfort of your cabin, others can see you if your curtains aren’t drawn. Plus, wouldn’t you rather view the sea?

Atrium areas: You probably know if you’re a light sleeper to avoid booking a cabin near the late-night disco, popular lounges and casino. But as ship atriums have morphed from places you pass through to lively places you want to linger – including for entertainment – you’ll want a cabin away from the party.

Crew areas: A cabin near the engine room may be noisy, not to mention smelly. Avoid it. You’ll also want to make sure your cabin is not near a housekeeping area or the door to the crew quarters – crew start work early in the morning and you will hear doors banging and other sounds as these folks prepare for the day.

Obstructed views: You’ve booked an outside or balcony cabin at a bargain price and can see the sea, if you slant your head this way, or that, while avoiding the giant orange lifeboat blocking your view. Don’t let this be you.
